Grammar:

Present Perfect Tense – теперішній доконаний час.

Вживання:

1. Дія вже відбулася до моменту мовлення, але нам важливий її результат.

Моллі вже помила посуд (результат: посуд чистий)

Стів ще не прибрав у кімнаті (результат: у кімнаті брудно)

Кейт вже дочитала книжку (результат: Кейт знає, про що книжка)

 

2. Дія, яка відбулася у незавершений період часу.

Ми ходили до зоопарку на цьому тижні (тиждень ще не закінчився)

Вони отримали листа сьогодні (день ще не завершився)

Незважаючи на те, що в українській мові такі речення стоять у минулому часі (помила, прибрав, дочитала, ходили, отримали),  в англійській мові це теперішній час! Дія у таких реченнях завжди пов'язана з теперішнім часом і завжди важливий саме її результат, а не час виконання.

already – [ɔːlˈrɛdi] - (олреді) – вже (+)

yet / not yet – [jɛt / nɒt jɛt] - (єт / нот єт) – вже (?), ще не (-)

lately – [ˈleɪtli] - (лейтлі) – останнім часом

just – [ʤʌst] - (джаст) – щойно

recently – [ˈriːsntli] - (ріснтлі) – нещодавно

today – [təˈdeɪ] - (тудей) – сьогодні

this week – [ðɪs wiːk] - (зис вік) – на цьому тижні

this year – [ðɪs jɪə] - (зис їе) – у цьому році

A Tea Party

Yesterday the Parkers had a tea party. Steve invited his friends.

The guests arrived at 12 o’clock. Steve and Molly met them and they all came into the living room. They ate a cake, cheese, fruit, and drank tea. They talked about their school life.

After lunch Molly sang songs and the boys told their guests funny stories. Everyone enjoyed the party very much and left the house at 5 o’clock.
